We provide limited legal, advocacy, and media services to educators, families and students in California K-12 schools, who are facing repression and discrimination related to Palestine, or similar issues and identities. Because our capacity is limited, we try to refer educators and families who need legal representation outside to experienced attorneys when possible.
If your issue is not related to education in CA K-12 schools, this is out of scope for K12 Defense, although we may be able to provide you with a referral. Please contact Palestine Legal for matters related to university campuses, or other community contexts.
Refusal of Service Policy
The K12 Defense Project and our partners are not obligated to represent all prospective clients. We may decline to provide services if:
- The identity of a prospective client is uncertain (for example, if a prospective client refuses to identify herself, fails to provide sufficient detail confirming her identity, or staff suspect that the prospective client is not who she purports to be).
- A prospective client does not contact us herself, but through a third-party purporting to represent her.
- A prospective client requests services that conflict with or exceed our scope of work or mission.
- A prospective client embraces a value system in conflict with our principles at K-12 Legal Defense, for example, anti-muslim racism, anti-black racism, antisemitism, transphobia, xenophobia, etc.
- A prospective client has a conflict of interest with former, current, or other prospective clients of K12 Defense and affiliated attorneys.
- For any other reason, K12 Defense, our staff, and affiliated attorneys are unable to offer services.

If you are contacting us on behalf of a friend who is seeking legal advice, please send them this page and encourage them to submit the form themselves. Due to legal reasons, we cannot advise third parties. (If you’re merely reporting a concern and do not need legal advice, you’re welcome to do that on behalf of someone else.).
